I began beekeeping at the age of 14, and it has been a true passion of mine ever since.
South East Apiaries is a passion-driven beekeeping business offering pure, natural honey and handcrafted beehives.
Based in Dunmore East, I run a beekeeping business dedicated to producing local, natural honey and I also design and handcraft all of my own beehives, creating sustainable and bee-friendly environments that support healthy colonie.
Our Beekeeping Philosophy
At our apiary
in Dunmore East Co Waterford we practice natural beekeeping with deep respect for the bees and the land they live on. We work with the native Irish honeybee (Apis mellifera mellifera), supporting the conservation of this vital and resilient species.
Our bees
are never exposed to chemical treatments. Instead, we focus on strong genetics, natural behaviors, and a stress-free environment that allows them to thrive. Beekeeping, to us, is about working with the bees-not against them . We never heat, filter, or alter our honey in any way, so what you taste is exactly as the bees made it: raw, pure, and full of local character.

At South East Apiaries, we specialize in handcrafted beehives, designed and built with care in our workshop in Dunmore East. Each hive is made from high-quality timbers such as Red Deal Pine, Douglas Fir, and Yellow Pine etc ensuring durability and a productive environment for your bees.
